Anne Käärid, Natural Health Practitioner & Educator
We are not separate from nature,
but a living expression of the environment around us.
“With so many types of alternative health resources around us, trying something new can be a little intimidating and even scary at times. If you are a new to alternative health practices, my hope is that you will open yourself to experience new ways of promoting your health naturally, and to find the right fit for you. If you are someone who has already explored a variety of wholistic treatments, I invite you to read through my offerings to decide if my philosophy of healing resonates with you and your wellness planning.”
Anne is a Natural Health Practitioner, recognized by the national professional body, Natural Health Practitioners of Canada (NHPC), and committed to offering professional therapies to her clients. Through her private practice, Anne offers plant-based (herb and essential oils) therapies and wholistic massage. She has graduated (with honours) from Aromatica, Centre for Natural Therapies and Holistic Studies (Ontario, Canada) as a Registered Myomassology Practitioner, and Certified Raindrop Therapist. She has comprehensive bodywork training in Thai (Yoga) Massage, Thai Stem (hot herbal compress) Massage, Lymphatic Drainage Massage, Raindrop Therapy, Acupressure, Traditional Chinese Fire Cupping, Ayurvedic Head Massage, Craniosacral Therapy, Reflexology, Hydrotherapy, Tuina and Aromatherapy. Anne is currently enrolled in the Registered Massage Therapy program at D'Arcy Lane in London, Ontario.
“As the daughter of Estonian immigrant parents, plant-based folk medicine and traditional therapies were an innate part of my culture and family life growing up. As a Christian practitioner, I am grateful to be working in a healing ministry under God’s tutelage, using His pharmacy (plants, herbs, and the earth’s elements). Through His example (Jeremiah 30:17), I too strive to restore health and promote healing in the people that come to my practice. To honour God by taking care of our bodies, 1 Corinthians 6:20, I seek out opportunities to share wellness education and understanding through workshops, treatments and one-on-one natural health counselling. Through prayerful treatments, I feel privileged to be guided by God to use my hands, my knowledge and compassion in enabling people toward better health and wellness. “…they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.” (Mark 16:18)”
Anne's background in small business, marketing, mentoring, training and administration has given her a varied toolbox of administrative skills. These come into play with her volunteer and mentorship work, and the contracts that she takes to help like-minded businesses in the area. Anne (along with her therapy dog Sophii), are currently back at school - enrolled in the Registered Massage Therapy course with D'Arcy Lane/triOS College in London. Anne plans on staying in London after she graduates (summer 2019), and bringing her treatments and workshops to the region.
Anne and her two sons have been residents of Grey County since 1998. They have been involved in the region through the arts and heritage as well as the health care community in both volunteer and professional capacities.
As a family they enjoy the area to take in hikes, art, and music. Both of the boys have recently graduated school: her eldest is a Teacher who will be working in Ottawa as a high school art / special education teacher; and her youngest has graduated from music industry arts and has started his own business making custom stave drums, as well as working as a drummer in a band and session work. |
